we made it!

Hi we are here. We had a few long stop overs, so we got in pretty late. But now we have a laptop. I don't have time or energy to post much. So I'll have to write more tomorrow so sum up the trip. So glad we are finally here.

12 hours and counting

Aaron will be home in less than 12 hours now (knock on wood)!!! I can't wait. But I am really busy tonight. I'm glad I started making lists a long time ago, because I keep thinking of things I forgot. I wonder if we'll have room for everything I plan to bring.

A quick synopsis of today: I knew it was going to be hot - I've had the fan on since noon. So we went to the park for about 2 hours this morning so the kids could get their energy out before it got too hot. We even put sunblock on at 9:00 am! Mostly the kids played, ate lunch, played on the computer, watch a movie, and drove me crazy. We also made one last outing. I had forgotten to return the library books, so we returned them, fueled up the van and bought some fresh fruit at the produce stand. We've been without apples for a week now and I really needed one! The grapes were 59 cents per pound!!!

I've just been busy with random things. Cleaning, packing, etc. At least I don't have to plan a route - we already know how to get there! But I do have to figure out where to stop for gas! I've taken a few breaks to check blogs and work on my cross-stitch, but other wise it's been busy.

After dinner it was bath time and bedtime, with a quick vacuuming in between. The kids didn't settle down right away, but after about 30 minutes they were out. Now I've got to figure out where to pack all of the stuff I have ready to go. Until next time - whenever that may be!

The birthday party

Today we celebrated Timothy's birthday once again. I couldn't sleep after about 6:00 am. I finally go out of bed at 6:30 and started cleaning and organizing. I was too tired last night to get much done. I tried to be as quiet as I could. I figured I could get more done with the boys asleep. I was right. The didn't get up until about 7:15. I'd accomplished a lot by then and was ready for breakfast. I was constantly doing something right up until the first knock at the door at 10:00 am. I was going to change my shirt, but never got around to it, oh well.

When the kids came in they could either paint a wooden circle into a basketball, decorate their goody bags with stickers and crayons, or just play with the balloons and basketballs. Everyone was entertained by something. I was grateful to have Caroline, Cathrine and Jenni stay to help.

When I was trying to transition between crafts/playtime to presents Cathrine and Jenni got the kids involved in a balloon game. I was so grateful. Then I could clean up the table and the paint and get ready for cake.

So Timothy opened presents and loved every single one of them. Henry and Robby with Timothy opening Henry's gift

After that it was time for cake and ice cream.
The cake - a blue basketball jersey. Timothy didn't fit all the way across - so it's TJ for today. David really wanted to help me put the M&M's on. That's why there is no pattern what so ever.

Cathrine manned the camera, while I served the cake and Jenni served up the ice cream. Timothy could hardly wait to blow out the candles, and when it came time he had to blow a few times, and I think he had some help.

Just as we were finishing up eating the first moms arrived. The timing was great. The kids ate and played until their moms came. It took a while to say goodbye to everyone, and Gemille lingered a bit, and it was fun to talk to her. I would say it was a successful party.

The rest of the day was filled with me still trying to organize the house. Lunch was just leftovers. The kids entertained themselves with balloons, and Timothy's new toys. Timothy is so great at sharing! I did a lot of filing and sorting and tossing. I've been working on the budget for next year (July starts the new budget for us - since that's when the new salary starts - Yay for yearly raises!) I know the kids really wanted to go to a park, but I just had so much to do here at home.

Aaron did get to call. He was calling from a beautiful black sandy beach while sitting under a coconut tree! He lucky is he? Well I guess he has been working all week, and had to pay for most of the trip, so I guess he deserved it. The boys had fun talking to him. It wasn't for very long - about 10 minutes or so. But it was great to hear from him. Tomorrow they plan to hike up to a volcano before he catches his flight home. He might get to chat later tonight. We'll see.

We had Nathan and Amy up for more cake and ice cream tonight. I needed to return their camera, and use their cord to upload the pictures - mine didn't fit their camera. They left while I put the kids to bed, and they are coming up in a bit to play games. So that's about all the time I have.

Busy day

I'm short on time, so lets see if I can be brief. Not likely. We took the van in for it's first oil change. The kids were sad that I made them leave when Dragon Tales wasn't over yet. The we went to the store to get a few last minute things. I had almost arrived when my cell phone rang. I don't often get calls on my cell phone and when there was no number listed on the caller ID I was hoping it was Aaron. I was right! We got to talk for a few minutes. They headed back to San Salvador today. It was so good to hear his voice even if it was only for a few minutes.

After the grocery store we went to Target to get my RX refilled. I had to refill it before we leave on Monday. I didn't get any weird looks from the techs, but I still wonder if they knew I was the same pathetic lady from last week. We got home from our outing with about 5 minutes to spare before leaving for Timothy's well child check-up. At least I didn't forget that one! We shoveled down some yogurt before racing out the door. We got there on time and didn't have to wait long (I love my pediatrician's office!!!!). Hearing test & vision screening were great. Timothy is 40 inches and 41 lbs! 50th % for height and 90th% for weight. Dr. R* asked about his diet, and then said she's not worried about his high BMI - most kids start leveling out at this age. He got 3 of the 5 shots he needed (I forgot to bring my card last year). Since his birthday party is tomorrow we left out the ones with the greatest risk of reaction. We'll do those sometime after we get back from ID. He was brave and winced a little, but no tears! He got 3 stickers for the 3 shots. David got 2 as well.

Then we headed home at some lunch, did some laundry, made a cake, fielded lots of phone calls. The kids never did get computer time. We spent an hour down in the laundry room. I worked on my cross-stitch when I wasn't moving clothes. And the boys rode around on the tricycles that are stored down there. We were almost done when Timothy was trying to ask me a question and I scolded him for stepping on the bags that were next to my chair. He turned around and ran smack into the corner of the wooden pole behind him. He's got a nice goose egg now. That will be great for birthday party pictures. I felt so bad because I overreacted. I guess after an hour of kids chasing and ramming into each other and then complaining that the other child was being bad (i.e. doing the same thing) I was a little on edge. So we went upstairs as soon as I emptied the dryer and put ice on his forehead and had a strawberry banana milkshake for snack.

After dinner the kids "helped" me frost Timothy's cake. Mostly they fought while I made the frosting. Then they licked the beaters. I had another phone call in the middle of frosting, so I had to put that on hold. By the time I was done the kids were out of control and it was bed time. After I got the kids to bed I continued to frost the cake, and got one more phone call. I'm glad because then I got on the computer and realized Aaron was trying to chat with me. Once we got that set up we chatted for about 30 minutes or so. It was great to "talk" to him. We've never done that because he doesn't really have free time at work. Or rather he doesn't spend his free time chatting online. Besides we've never been in a place where we couldn't just pick up the phone and call.

So now I've got the cake frosted and I borrowed a camera for tomorrow. I have to get the rest of the house cleaned for tomorrow and then I'm going to bed. Good night!

Another memory lapse

I could kick myself. We had such a great day planned and then I ruined it. Well the morning was shot, but I guess the afternoon was fun. The plan was to go to my Primary presidency meeting at 9:30 and then head out to IKEA from there. The kids would play and I would shop. Then I'd treat them to lunch. I should stop telling my kids the plan in case they get messed up. When we got back David's friend Max was going to come over and play. We set up the play date yesterday while we were at the park.

Carissa (Max's Mom) called this morning and said she had forgotten that she agreed to watch Cooper (another classmate) in the afternoon. So instead of Max coming over she was hoping we could all meet at the park again today. I was fine with the arrangement, although it meant I wouldn't be able to get as much done at home. David was upset of course. Why can't Cooper and Max come over here?" I was not about to have 2 boys over. I think that would have been too much fighting.

So I go to my meeting. It went pretty well. It went over - which is actually unusual. So I am trying to hurry and get the kids to clean up all the toys and rush out the door so I have time to do everything I need to. So I grab my binder, the donut Timothy didn't finish and both kids. We race to the car and get in. We drive to IKEA (it's about 30 minutes away - which is why this is only my 3rd trip there in the past year). It was the first time I had made the trip with out a map - just my memory. I began to second guess myself when I didn't see the exit where I had expected it. But I was right and I found it. Only after I park do I realize that my purse is no where to be found. I had left it at Jessica's. I am so mad at myself!!!! I try to think of someway to make the trip worth it. I can't buy lunch - no money. They can't swipe their cards for a prize. They can't even play while I sit because I don't have any ID. Luckily I hadn't unbuckled Timothy yet. They both started crying. I don't blame them. I had ruined their day, and it was all my fault. And now I had wasted all this gas, and Timothy fell asleep on the way home. I had gotten in the wrong lane to make the freeway entrance, and it took me 5 minutes to get turned in the right direction - great, more gas wasted.

Since we were going to eat lunch at IKEA I didn't have anything planned for lunch. There were no leftovers because we had gone to the BBQ. So I spoiled them and let them have a popsicle while I thought of something. Eventually we ended up with peanut butter sandwiches. After things had settled down, I called Carissa to see when they were going to the park. They were already there, so we got ready and headed out. Gemille was there again with Michael and Benjamin. And Jenni (Tyler's mom) was there with her daughter - Tyler was at a day camp. So we spent another couple of hours having fun in the sun. There was another boy (Mason) there who was in Room 2 at their school. They all played together and had a great time pouring buckets of water down the sidewalk and watching to see which direction the water would go. A science experiment right? As usual Timothy spent the first 45 minutes or so in the sandbox.

It was another laid back evening. Computer time, movie, dinner, bath time, bedtime. I was worried Timothy would stay up late with the nap he took, but I haven't heard a peep for 20 minutes.

I am starting to pack now. I've found a storage box that I am filling with toys for the kids. That's all they'll take since we can always borrow come from Grandma. I organized the clothes we'll be taking. I haven't packed them yet since Aaron has one of the suitcases, and I still have to do laundry - either tomorrow or Friday. I also put away some of the 3T clothes that Timothy has been wearing. I've been noticing how his shirts are just a little too short. This is as good a time as any to pull out the 4T stuff, since he just had a birthday.

I guess that's all for tonight. I've got more stuff to plan, pack, and clean tonight.

Happy Birthday Timothy

I can't believe Timothy is now 4!!! He didn't believe it either. When I told him it was his birthday he ran out into the family room and said, "No it's not. There aren't any decorations or presents." How lame am I??? I let him pick what to have for breakfast. He chose pancakes, no surprise there. Luckily we forgot to open the gift from Grandma and Grandpa G* last Thursday, so I finally convinced him it was his birthday when I showed him the present. They had fun listening to the Wee Sing Songs - remember those as a kid, it is their 30th anniversary edition on CD. And playing with the ABC Bingo cards. They didn't actually play the game, just played with the cards.

It was a fun day. I needed to work on a few things so they watched a movie. After lunch we headed to the park. I chose one that had a wading pool. David was begging me to go to the beach, but Timothy wanted to play at a playground. So they got both, playground and water. There is even a sandbox to fulfill that need too. Lucky us David found a friend from school (Michael) as soon as we got there. Michael's little brother Benjamin is Timothy's age and they love to play together. So it worked out well. Pretty soon another classmate friend - Max arrived with little sister Sadie. It was a blast. The kids played in the water, shared snacks, played on the playground. And Gemille, Carissa and I got to talk. The weather was beautiful. I was even worried about a sunburn - but we all had sunblock on, so we were fine.

We headed home around 3:30 and had a popsicle (since I didn't want to buy anything when the ice cream truck stopped by). Then mostly the boys played nicely together. We headed out to Bruder's BBQ around 5:50. We all had a good time. The boys were fairly well behaved. I didn't feel like I had to watch them every second. Bruder and Barbi have grandchildren and a fabulous playroom downstairs, so that kept them fairly occupied. They had way too many cookies, and lots of fruit. But at least they sat and ate some dinner before running off. I was able to talk to a lot of Aaron's coworkers, and meet some new people. For most of them today was their last day of internship, and they didn't feel like they were 2nd year residents. They have vacation until Monday. I had almost forgotten that Aaron gave up his vacation time to go to El Salvador.

Speaking of Aaron, sadly I missed his phone call. He was able to call to wish Timothy "Happy Birthday." But he called about 20 minutes after we left. By the time we got home it would have been too late for him to call back again. It was good to hear his voice and know that he was fine, but I'm sad I missed talking to him.

The boys are now in bed, and finally asleep. So I have a few minutes to reminisce about the last four years with Timothy in our lives. Timothy was born at 12:06 am four years ago. He was such a good baby. He has always been able to entertain himself, which has been helpful. But I also have to remember to make sure he gets enough attention. He is happy, fun, silly, playful, and has a great imagination. He wants to be just like his brother. I love you so much Timothy! I know you'll be a great big brother.

keeping busy

Today was much better. I waited for the traffic to let up and then we went shopping. We found all sorts of orange and basketball stuff at Michael's and Party City. The kids didn't like that I wanted to go to Old Navy "we aren't buying clothes, we are getting stuff for Timothy's birthday party." So I didn't last long in that store. Then we went to JoAnn's, and they were bored there to. Although I did see Saekae T* from my ward. She has these adorable twin girls that are in Timothy's sunbeam class. I don't know how to tell them apart even though they are fraternal twins.

We stopped by the grocery store on the way back and made it home in time for lunch. Pizza leftovers! We had a laid back afternoon. While the kids played on the computer I started to clean and organize the kitchen. I started with the silverware drawer. I think I made a good dent. Later we went to the park. The kids love to ride their bikes and scooters to the park. We got a late start, so we didn't stay long. We had a dinner and movie night. Occasionally we'll eat dinner while watching a movie. Since we didn't get home until almost 6:00 and they hadn't watched any TV yet, I decided to fix some hot dogs (and fruit salad and green beans) and eat in the family room. They had a hard time going to sleep tonight, but eventually they did.

I decided to check Aaron's work email to see if there was anything pressing. There wasn't but someone was asking about the BBQ tomorrow. I thought it was on Friday, but I was wrong it's tomorrow. I think we'll still go. It's Timothy's birthday, so I guess I'll just ask the kids if they want to go. I'm guessing they will since they were sad about missing the one last Friday. Last year they had a great BBQ, but they also had a lost of yummy appetizers like cheese and crackers, strawberries etc. It's just up the street, and starts at 5:45, so I can still get the kids to bed at a reasonable hour.

The other thing I discovered is that Aaron hasn't checked his email since he left NY on Sunday. Or he would have seen the email I sent him.

I guess that's all for now.

Surviving

It's been less than 48 hours and I already feel like I'm surviving. Perhaps it's because it's the weekend. I feel like I can't bother my friends on the weekend because they are busy spending time with their families. So after two days and nights with the kids I really need to get out. I'll have to set up a few play dates. One mom has already offered to take the boys for a couple of hours, maybe we'll see if anyone wants to come over here. Maybe it will get better tomorrow.

We did end up going to the beach yesterday. We stayed for almost two hours, and I almost had to drag Timothy away. But I hadn't brought anything to eat, and it was nearly lunch time. The sun came out occasionally, and warmed up a bit. David even ventured out into the water for a bit. He kept saying he was going out to the bouys, but I knew that wasn't going to happen. He never got deeper than a few inches above his knees. Timothy happily stayed on the sand. It think after it warms up he'll be more likely to go in the water. The lifeguards come on duty at 11:00 am, and David was very interested in everything they were doing. He even helped them collect debris from the water (weeds, sticks etc). It was pretty funny. I don't have any pictures because I am without a camera this week. Aaron wanted to take it with him. I don't blame him. I can't wait to see the pictures he brings home. But that means I'll be posting without pictures mostly. I'll have to borrow a camera for Timothy's birthday party.

Speaking of the party, I am traveling across the lake to check out a few stores. I hope I find what I'm looking for. It has the closest Michael's, there's a Joann's there as well, and Party City. Between those 3 stores I should find everything I need. I hope the kids don't mind me dragging them to all those stores. We'll probably end up going to a park later tomorrow, it's supposed to be nice, and they always want to go to a park.

Aaron called this morning to let me know he made it to El Salvador. They were going to head out to the village a few hours later. He has no idea if he'll be able to contact me until they get back to San Salvador, and that's not until Thursday. I think that is going to be the hardest. We've been apart as long a 10 days, but I've always been able to talk to him. If there were an emergency I do have a contact number, but I don't know what kind of access he'll have otherwise. I already miss him. You'd think I'd be used to having him gone at night. But not for this long. Usually he's only gone for 30 hours at a time. OK I'll stop complaining.

As it is Sunday I'm not doing a lot of getting ready for our trip. I am however making tons of lists. Things to pack, things to clean/organize, errands to run, things to buy, etc. I guess I start on all that tomorrow. For now I think I'll read a good book, and maybe fall asleep. I'll keep a phone nearby, just in case. Although it is almost midnight there now.

A few things I've missed

As we were busy getting ready for Aaron's departure, I neglected a few things. What else is new?
Thursday was Tina (my sister) and John's 4th anniversary. Unfortunately they didn't get to spend it together. John was in El Salvador. He comes back tomorrow - maybe Aaron will see him in the airport. They are a wonderful match. I love how they compliment each other! Sadly I missed their wedding since I was 6 days away from my due date with Timothy. That's why I love this picture too. She talked to me during her photo shoot, and the photographer snapped a picture!

Thursday was also Amy's birthday. I think she's 23, but honestly I don't think I have ever asked. She is married to Nathan - Aaron's younger brother. Since they live downstairs from us we get to hang out a lot. She is only 3 weeks from her due date. They are expecting a girl. I am excited for them, even tough I won't be there until she's already a month old. We got to share some carrot cake with her on Friday for her birthday. Thanks Nathan.

We also celebrated Timothy's birthday Thursday since Aaron will be gone on the actual day. We just opened presents, and then stuck candles in a donut and sang happy birthday. He'll get plenty of cake at his birthday party, so I didn't want to have too much cake. Here's some pictures we took.

Friday I felt like I was running around all day. After a primary meeting we had a little down time, then lunch and we walked to the store. It took longer than I expected - again. The drug store was having a sidewalk sale and giving away bags of popcorn. We took some and ate it as we walked home. It was 77 degrees according to a store's sign. It was beautiful, but it got pretty warm, and the kids walked slower because they were eating popcorn.

Friday I also had to make my 3rd trip to Target this week. I made a huge mistake when I went to the pharmacy on Thursday and I will be forever grateful that they were able to fix it. (Don't ask -well, you can ask, but I won't tell you). However I will forever be embarrassed, and I'm dreading going back the next time I need to refill my RX.

Aaron was very busy on Friday. Not only did he have a busy day with his patients he also had to do either discharge summaries or interim summaries on all his patients. Usually he has a few days to do that, but since he left the country today he didn't really have any extra days. We were supposed to go to a BBQ to welcome the new interns. The annual kickball game and BBQ. There was just too much going on. The boys were disappointed that we didn't get to go. But Aaron made some hamburgers and we had our own BBQ before we went to Nathan and Amy's for carrot cake.

So I think I am caught up now. I'm sure I'll think of more to say tomorrow.

Flight change

This morning didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. After staying up way too late last night (OK I fell asleep but Aaron was up late) 4:15 am came too quickly. We decided to bring the boys to say good-bye to Aaron at the airport. We picked up Maya on the way (her son decided to sleep in at home). Just as we approached the exit to the airport we got a phone call. Another friend on the same flight told us the flight had been canceled. There were supposed to be 6 of them traveling together. I dropped them off at the terminal with their luggae and waited in the cell phone lot, in case their flight was rescheduled a lot later. The hard thing was the boys hadn't eaten breakfast. Luckily Aaron had left his banana in the van, so after a while we shared it. The boys filled the time with bouncing around in the van, watching the construction crew place concrete barriers, looking for rabbits (we spotted two), watching the port-a-potty guy clean out the port-a-potties (we couldn't really see it since the truck was in the way), and watching planes take off.

Aaron first called to say 3 of them would now be traveling through Dallas, and the other 3 would be rerouted through JFK. The flights to El Salvador wouldn't leave until 6:00 pm from Dallas and some insane hour of the morning tomorrow from JFK. Guess which one he's taking? The red eye from JFK of course. He said to hang out a few more minutes until he figured out what time the flight to JFK was leaving. Maybe he'd have time to have us drive around to the terminals and say good-bye one more time. When he called again his flight was leaving in about 35 minutes, so there was no time for him to come out. We said good-bye over the phone and headed for home. David was really sad. I was too, but I didn't cry. Not yet anyway. I'll probably hear from Aaron again later today since he'll be at JFK for a very long time.

Timothy fell asleep about 5 minutes before we got home. I wanted to go to sleep. Instead David and I had some breakfast. I took a shower, that's when I broke down and cried. Then I played dominoes with David. At some point David decided to get dressed. I fell asleep on the floor waiting for him. We played another game, and since it was almost 9:30 I decided I needed to wake up Timothy if he was going to go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight.

Now the kids want to go to the beach, even though it is cloudy and 65 degrees. Yesterday was sunny and 80. They want to play with Timothy's new sand toys, and wear their new swim suits. We'll see how long we last. I have a feeling I'll be blogging a lot this week.

Last Day of school and more

Yesterday was the last day of school for David. They were introduced to the rest of the school as the new first graders. David says he doesn't want to go to 1st grade. We have all summer to work that one out. Before we left for school I had David pose for a picture.
"Why?" he asked.
"Tradition," I answered. I guess I didn't really have a good reason, other than I wanted a picture of him on the last day of school. And so I can compare his first day of kindergarten to his last day of kindergarten.

First Day

Last day

Here he is at the end of the day with his bag full of school work: his portfolio, autobiography etc. (he's in the gray hoodie - click on the picture for a better view)

He also had two letters from his 4th and 5th grade buddies.

He read them to me.

We stayed and played for about an hour after school. They were giving out popsicles and cookies in the lunch room. It was mostly for a farewell to our principal. Unfortunately his school is losing their principal of 4 years. She has done wonders for the school, but has accepted a position with the district working with multilingual programs (she speaks Spanish), which is something she has really wanted to do. So we shall see who we get for next year.

After an hour of playing hard and saying goodbye to his friends we headed out to the van. It was then David realized he didn't have his lunch bag. So I drove the van closer to the school, the back door was already locked, so I drove to the front of the school and left the kids in the car - I know bad idea, sorry I'm not perfect. Mrs. L* was not in her class, so I borrowed the keys from the front office, ran downstairs, and peeked in his classroom. I didn't see it in the buckets, by his desk, or on Mrs. L*'s desk, so I went back up stairs, checked the lost and found really quick - everything was spread across the stage, so I just glanced, and then left.

I promised David we would come back to look today when Mrs. L* would be there. Maybe she saw it and put it away somewhere. We did go back today and Mrs. L* took us down to look. David found it near his desk, tucked away in the corner. His lunch bag is black, so it just blended in with the shadows. We were all happy we found it.

I didn't get a chance to blog last night because we had family in town and we all went out to Tony Roma's for dinner. It's been a while since I've been there. Grandpa and Grandma G* (Aaron's grandparents) were visiting Grandpa's brother Paul and his wife Sharon. He also is attending an accounting conference. So Grandpa treated us all to dinner. Valerie & Christian and Nathan & Amy came as well. It was great to hang out with the family - even though David was sad to miss the pizza party at the park. His class got together at a park for an end of the year party.

The food was great, the company was wonderful. Christian frequented the bar to give us updates on the NBA finals game. We all ate too much, and took the rest home with us. Timothy was exhausted and fell asleep right there at the table at 8:00. We let him rest his head on his jacket. The waitress thought that was about the most precious thing she'd ever seen. He never got his dessert (it comes with the kids' meal) so she put it in a to go container so he could have his "dirt cup" later. She also thought David might feel left out if Timothy got one and he didn't so she put an extra one in there for David - she's a smart one! Timothy stayed asleep until we got home, then was awake enough to get ready for bed, but fell asleep again soon after he hit the pillow (after 9:00).

Aaron and I didn't stay up too much later. He's on call today, and has had a busy day. His last two calls were fairly easy. However he called at 7:00 and already had 5 or 6 new patients, and was rushing to get some dinner, before he got another one. At least it is his last call! And on Friday he signs out all of his patients to another resident. Saturday he heads to El Salvador. The new interns started orientation today!!!! Friday is our first chance to meet them. I can't believe his first year is almost over! Yay!!!!

Well summer break has officially started. Today was a pretty laid back day. We made a quick stop at David's school and stopped by the library on the way home. I had a hold ready to pick up. It was for book club for May - oh well. Better late than never. We had leftovers from the restaurant for lunch. When the kids were getting stir crazy we went to the park. The sun came out just in time. David and Timothy had fun playing with a boy named Daniel. It turns out he goes to David's school, but just finished 3rd grade. I got to talk with his mom and found out her husband is doing his fellowship in rhuematology. They are moving into the apartments near the park, so we may see them again soon. Just as we were saying good-bye David got a huge splinter from the benches. Luckily I could pull it out with my nails - it was pretty thick and about 3/4-inch long. His finger started bleeding a lot, and he cried the whole was home. It's amazing how a bandage can fix things.

They watched a movie from the library, I got to talk to my dad, and we almost finished off the lasagna leftovers for dinner. Timothy got to eat his dirt cup, and David actually wanted a popsicle, so his dirt cup is back in the fridge. I had one more slice of the chocolate cake (Aaron's meeting didn't finish it off). We played hide-and-seek and got ready for bed. That's it. Some days will be like that this summer. Tomorrow David gets to play at Chet's house, and he's very excited!

Ever notice how wordy I am when I blog? Aaron noticed that the other day. I told him that on days when he's not here for me to talk to I tend to write more on my blog. Aaron is on call, hence the long and over detailed post today. At least I know someone will read it!
