Happy Halloween!!

We are still alive. We've just been gone a lot. We have been on two interview trips in the last week, and I don't want to spend any more time in the van right now. We have had internet access, but not a lot of time to spend blogging. I have quite a few pictures I need to upload and post. We've had a lot of fun. It's exciting, crazy and fun. I think Amy permanently hates her carseat now! More soon I promise. I'll just leave you with a quick Halloween pic!

surrounded by girls

After having 2 boys first I never thought I'd be surrounded by girls. But the other morning I was on co-op duty. So far I hadn't ever been called on. I was asked several days in advance if I could watch 4 girls, and that morning someone else called. 5 is my limit, so I said sure. I put Amy down for a nap just before the first girl arrived. About 5 minutes after the mom left the little girl started screaming, not just crying, but screaming. I've held her at church, and she was fine with it, but for some reason, she was not happy. She did calm down after a couple of minutes. But of course when the 4 girls arrived she started screaming again. I figured it would get better soon, so I told the other moms, not to worry. So now I had a 3 year old, 2 1/2 year old, almost 2 year old, 14 month old and 8 month old (with Amy 13 months old asleep). When the 2 1/2 year old started crying for her mom, the first girl (14 months) stopped crying. We had put on The Little Mermaid to appease the crying 2 1/2 year old. However she continued to cry, "I want my Mommy" until Ariel appeared on the screen. Then she was quiet. Ahhh! So it was only crazy for about 10 minutes. The rest of the time was fine. Amy didn't sleep long - although she slept through the crying. As I was holding two girls I hoped that the baby wouldn't need me to hold her too. I realized I was surrounded by 6 little girls, and so I snapped a few pictures.

I'm not using names, because I don't have permission from the parents.

14 month old, on my lap

3 year old on the couch, 8 month old crawling around

3 year old, and almost 2 year old on the far left

The first little girl left after an hour. It was pretty good after that. The 2 1/2 year old was sad a few times after that, but only for a couple of minutes, and eventually the 8 month old got tired, but it was so close to pick up time I didn't put her down for a nap. All in all a great, but crazy morning.

stairs

Amy has a fascination with the stairs. Not only climbing them, but going down them, sitting on the bottom step and playing, and lately throwing things down the slats. The other day she threw something down there I needed, and I asked David to go get it for me. This is just a few of the many things that were down there - David refused to get any more after these.Since then she's put at least three or four more cars, a few blocks, and other toys. I may have to make this a weekly chore - cleaning out under the stairs.

A nice quiet Sunday afternoon

A few snippets of our Sunday last week.

Me First

For a while the boys have been fighting about going first, or doing things first. I thought I had solved the problem by having days to go first. Every other day they take turns getting in and out of the house and van first. That works well, however now they are fighting over doing everything else first. Getting PJs on, brushing teeth, getting dressed, setting the table, etc. It's driving me bonkers! I really hope they grow out of it quickly, because I don't have any good solutions. And I'm tired of hearing, but I wanted to go first. It's usually Timothy too. He tries to do something before David, and then David realizes what Timothy is doing and hurries and finishes first. Then Timothy cries because David got done first. This too shall pass, right? I hope so. In the mean time I guess I just ignore it.

Funny Things Kids Say (and do)

All of this happened this week.

Timothy: I love you more than a wife.
Aaron: What do you mean?
T:You love a wife about a pound and I love you infinity.

T:I don't know how Jesus can come to my birthday party. I guess I'll just have to die.

Me: What's your deal?
T: I don't have a deal.

Timothy: What did the frelection look like?
Me: the what?
T: frelection
Me: What's a frelection? (assuming he meant election since the school just had their election yesterday)
T: You, know when they didn't die because they just saw the frelection.
Me: (remembering that we had just finished Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) Oh, a reflection!
And I didn't think he was listening.

David talking in his sleep: 9... plus... 6... is... 15.
As we will be missing a few days of school to go on interview trips the kids' teachers sent home the class work they would miss. David spent over an hour working on this last night, so he wouldn't have to do it on the trip. I'm guessing that's why he was doing math problems in his sleep.

A Day in the Life of...

This is what I did today - completely honest!
2:00 am - woken up by Amy. She isn't soothed by the back rub or binky, so I put her up and cradle her, when I place the binky in her hand she puts it in her mouth, falls asleep. I don't want to repeat the process, so she ends up in my bed.
5:15 am - Amy wakes again. I give her the binky - she falls asleep. Eventually I do too.
6:15am - Amy wakes again. For good this time. She crawls around the bed and jabbers, we have a conversation about nothing.
6:38 am - I decide to get out of bed, take pill #1, turn off the alarm, put away laundry I folded last night and fold laundry that I didn't get to last night. Meanwhile Amy is trying to unfold the laundry, and move the step stool next to the couch so she can climb onto it and walk clumsily all over it. I wonder why the kids are still asleep.
7:05 am - I attempt to sweep the floor, while Amy walks through the pile and tries to eat food off the floor.
7:15 am - I decide to make pancakes for breakfast.
7:30 am - I wake the kids up for breakfast - highly unusual for them to sleep in that late. Timothy sets the table and David gets dressed.
7:35 am - Family prayer and breakfast.
7:50 am - I ask David to give Amy banana slices if she finished her 3rd pancake while I take a shower.
7:55 am - the phone rings. I usually bring a phone into the bathroom, but of course the one time it rings I don't have it with me. David brings me the phone without saying hello. It was Aaron. He hangs up and calls back. He's on his way home.
8:00 am - Amy is screaming strapped in her high chair, so I run in there (still in a towel) and she is mad because she's alone and the bananas she usually devours are all over the floor and tray. She doesn't want them this morning. So I get her down and then get dressed, and brush my hair.
8:05 am - I direct the kids to get ready for school, make beds and put away clothes. Meanwhile I change Amy's diaper, get Amy dressed, and do her hair, fix lunches for the kids, and remind Timothy to get dressed and put his breakfast plate away when he's done.
8:30 am - Aaron arrives home. I give him a kiss. He plays with Amy while I finish lunches, remind Timothy to make his bed, ask David to hang up his clean shirts, and do my make-up.
8:40 - Discuss with Aaron about his night, helping him with his cub scout meeting tomorrow, and itinerary for upcoming interview.
8:50 - It's too late to walk, which is OK because I have to drive so I'm back by 9:30 - I am back-up for co-op. I try to tame David's hair, help Timothy make his bed, and hang up his shirts.
9:00 am - send Aaron to bed, head downstairs to put shoes and jackets on. Make sure everyone has a folder, backpack and lunch bag.
9:05 am - head to the school. The kids play while I talk with other moms, the bell rings, I say good-bye, wait for Timothy's class to go to class, and then head home.
9:25 am - arrive home. Put Amy down for a nap.
9:30 am - while the computer is booting up I fix the seams on some of Aaron's clothes. Then I check email, confirm Visiting Teaching appointments, check Facebook, check blogs, start reviewing the budget for the last month.
10:15 am - Amy wakes up. I decide we both need a snack. I bring a 1/3 full bag of goldfish downstairs with us. She won't eat the ones I give her. She wants to get them out of the bag herself. So I take a handful and giver her the bag. She gleefully eats while I work on the budget.
10:30 am - I realize she has dumped the rest of the bag on the carpet, and all that is left is crumbs. I run upstairs and grab the vacuum, and hope it doesn't wake up Aaron.
10:40 am - time for a diaper change
10:45 am - attempt to finish the budget, but Amy wants to play. So we play with blocks. I bring out the shape sorter, which she loves. However when I sneak away to work on the budget she gets frustrated. So I give up on the budget and play with Amy.
11:30 am - time to make lunch. I give Amy a bowl of yogurt and a spoon. She feeds herself while I put away the dishes and warm up my leftovers. She wants to drink her water out of a cup so I continuously pour her water 1 tsp at a time.
11:45 am - she is still busy eating, so I decide to wash the floor, and replenish her grapes.
12:00 pm - Amy is done as evidenced by her relenstless pulling on her bib. I get her down and we check the mail. The grocery ads have arrived. I clear out the sink and stack the dirty dishes. Meanwhile Amy looks at a book, and cries when she gets to tthe end and it makes a buzzing sound. I glance at the ads before going downstairs.
12:15 pm - Amy and I go downstairs, I check email, send a reply, check Facebook, Dave posted a pic of my little bro playing football, we put shoes and jackets on and head to the school.
12:30 pm - arrive at the school. I sign in, get my visitor sticker then head to Timothy's class to pick up his backpack - the classroom is locked, so I go to the lunchroom to collect his lunch bag. I get to the library to find the books have already been shelved, hooray! So I start straightening the books, as Amy tries to "help". When Timothy's class arrives I start checking in books. Then I straighten more books, and then check out book when they are ready.
1:10 pm - the class is ready to go. Timothy, Amy and I go back to his classroom to collect his backpack and jacket and homework. Then go back to library to finish straightening books.
1:35 pm - Amy is done, so we sign out and head home. I put Amy down for a nap.
I start this blog post while helping Timothy with his homework. It's due on Friday - he finishes the whole thing. Timothy and I talk about the Halloween kindergarten potluck next week. He decides to draw a Halloween picture.
2:35 pm - Amy wakes up a little sooner than I expected. She indicates she is hungry. So I give her some Animal crackers while I try to figure out what to make for dinner. I decide on Pizza. I realize no one called for co-op this morning.
2:45 pm I take Amy and the Animal Crackers downstairs. Timothy tells me all about his Halloween picture while I blog some more. Amy dumps the crayons all over. I realize we won't be able to go to the Halloween potluck since we'll be heading out for an interview.
3:00 pm - I get off the computer and change Amy's diaper. I play for a few minutes.
3:15 pm - we head back to the school. The kids played after school and I followed Amy around. She didn't want me to stand and talk with my friends. She wanted me to sit next to her. When David finished off his lunch Amy decided she was hungry again. I fed her bits of a granola bar, as I chomped on the rest.
4:00 pm - we head home. I help David with his homework, and try to keep Timothy occupied, and Amy happy.
4:15 pm - the phone rings. A friend needs Aaron to look at her out-of-town friend's baby's ear. I tell her to send her over around 5:00. I realize I hadn't checked caller id since I got back. My MIL called while I was going to the school to help in the library. Oops.
4:25 pm - I hear Aaron awake upstairs. I run up to tell him about the baby coming at 5:00, but the phone rings again, Aaron answers it and is on the phone for a while, so I start the pizza crust dough. I ask the boys to clean up downstairs.
4:38 pm -he gets off the phone and I tell him about the appointment I made for him. I search for the otoscope charger and plug it in. I remember that I started the yeast soaking, and continue making the dough, then hear Amy coming up the stairs. I run to stop her, just in time to see her drop the otoscope down the hole in the stairs, so I send Timothy under the stairs to retreive it. I plug it in upstairs. Amy indicates she's hungry, so I put her up in the high chair and giver her part of a banana so I can finish dinner.
5:00 pm - Mom and baby arrive. Amy wants to see what's going on. I work on dinner.
5:15 pm - the boys are done cleaning up, our guests leave. I start David's game on the computer. I work on dinner, mixed with playing with Amy and talking with Aaron.
5:45 pm - I ask the boys to come upstairs and help set the table.
5:55 pm - prayer and dinner time, then scriptures.
6:20 pm - I set up Timothy's game on the computer. Say good-bye to Aaron, and start washing the dishes. I can hear David playing with Amy.
6:50 pm - Timothy is done with his computer game. I finish the dishes.
7:00 pm - I start the shower for David, when he is done I get Timothy and Amy in the bath. Then attempt to get them dressed, brush their teeth, get them to pick up their room.
7:30 pm - use the laptop to try to find the church building we'll go to on Sunday, realize the address is wrong on the website (Ave not St).
7:45 pm - read a few books. Then family prayer.
8:00 pm - I put Amy to bed, then read Harry Potter to the boys.
8:15 pm - the boys get in bed, I pull out the laptop, check facebook, play around on facebook, check email, chat with my sister, send out a few emails, check blogs.
9:00 pm - the kids are asleep so I turn on the TV to watch NCIS: Los Angeles. I missed too much of NCIS and decided to watch it online later. Meanwhile I work on this blog.
9:23 pm - Amy wakes up. I try to just giver her the binky - she's not taking it. So I nurse her.
9:33 pm - I put Amy back in her crib, and realize I am really hungry. I remember the Hershey's kisses in my coat pocket that I got from the librarian. I turn on the alarm and turn off the desktop computer, the rest of the budget will have to wait. Then I continue working on this post, checking facebook, and watching TV.
10:53 pm - Amy wakes again What?!!! I eventually get her back to sleep, and place her back in the crib.
11:00 pm - watch the news, check facebook one last time, finish this post.
11:30 pm - take pills #2, 3 and 4, brush teeth, say prayers, go to bed. Much later than I do when Aaron is home.

Why do I feel like I am so busy, but don't accomplish much?

Random thoughts

  • One of my favorite talks from General Conference was Elder Bednar's talk. It was really what I needed to hear. Sometimes I wonder if the things we try to teach our children will ever sink in. Why do we have scripture study if most of the time is spent telling the kids to be quiet or pay attention? Is Family Home Evening doing any good if all they want to do is eat the treat? Elder Bednar reminds us that it is not the individual events the kids will remember, but rather that we were consistent. That we read scriptures together as a family, and that we spent time together during FHE talking about the gospel, singing hymns, playing games, and eating refreshments.
  • Today was the primary program. At church the children sang and talked for the congregation. It was so cute. I love hearing the simple testimonies of the children as they talk about the things they have learned in Primary. Aaron wasn't able to be there. But I got to tell him all about how well David and Timothy said their parts. They each had two. Timothy's class had a line they all said together, and then Timothy talked about forgiveness. David quoted a scripture, and then talked about what the prophets have taught us. Timothy was acting a little silly during the first song, but after his wonderful teachers talked to him, he straightened up and sang, when he remembered the words. David did a great job singing as well. He worked really hard to remember the words, but was constantly looking to see if I was watching him. And mostly I was.
  • I get a kick out of Amy everyday. She is often doing something really silly or cute. Today she was turning in circles. She would only get around 2 or 3 times before she would get dizzy and fall down. She wouldn't do it when I got out the camera though. She is pretty mellow at church, which I am grateful for. During the 1st hour I usually keep her occupied with snacks. During the 2nd hour she can roam pretty freely in our small Sunday School class. Snacks, books and toys help. By the 3rd hour she is tired, since it's close to her nap time. She will often just lay down on her blanket (only if she has her binky though), for a minute or two, then get up and explore, and then lay down again. Today she didn't even fall asleep on the way home, so I was able to put her in her crib for her nap.
  • We recently removed the infant carrier carseat ifrom our van and replaced it with the convertable carseat. Amy is still too small to be facing forward, but too long to be in the infant seat. That makes it difficult to transfer her if she falls asleep in the van. Luckily I haven't had to do that very often. She doesn't seem to mind being rear facing, especially if she has one of her brothers back there to make her laugh.
  • I have had a lot of friends have babies recently. For some it was their first or second. For a few it was #5, 6 or 7!!! All of these babies make me think about when we might have another one. No, I am not expecting, nor am I baby hungry. I am loving the stage that Amy is at. I'm just thinking ahead.
  • I'm looking forward to our first interview trips. Part of one of the trips will be meeting with a realtor! Not necessarily for a house to buy, but to get to know the neighborhoods we might live in.
  • I'm making Halloween costumes for the boys (skeleton and mummy), but I'm still trying to figure out what to dress up Amy as. Everyone says she looks like Cindy Lou Who - from the Grinch. The costume would just be a pink nightgown, and red ribbons for her hair. I haven't seen a pink nightgown at the store, I don't know if I could make one, and I don't know if it would be warm enough. Maybe I'll check Goodwill or something.
That's all I can think of to write about. I'm sure I'll think of something else after I've turned off the computer, or just gotten into bed, but it will have to wait for another post. I think I'm going to bed early tonight!

more fun videos

Amy tries to jump. It's pretty funny. She doesn't get any air, but she seems to know what to do.

I was trying to get a sample of her laugh. It's the forced laugh she does when she hears other people laugh.

busy with life

I haven't posted an update for a long time. Man it's been almost 2 weeks. Let me tell you about yesterday first. Yesterday was Timothy's first field trip. The kindergartners went to a pumpkin patch. I originally planned to go with them, but I never got the permission slip, so I didn't know it was this week until Tuesday when Mrs. M* asked if Timothy was going. So I signed the permission slip and wrote a check. I couldn't go as a chaperone because Aaron and I had already planned a date. So we dropped the kids off at school, dropped off Amy at a friend's house and went to the temple. We haven't gone together since before Amy was born. Aaron has been several times by himself, and I got out about 6 months ago. It was a great morning. Amy did very well at the babysitters too. She only cried a little bit. It's getting easier to leave her. And now that she is just about done nursing I can leave her more at night.

Anyway back to yesterday. It was really rainy - even more than normal. Timothy wore some old shoes since he doesn't have any boots. I also found a bright yellow raincoat for him to wear. That proved to be the best thing I did, because according to Mrs. M * Timothy got lost just before they boarded the bus to go back to school. They found him because of his yellow raincoat. In talking to him later we also discovered that he left his lunch somewhere and couldn't find it, so Mrs. M* shared her lunch with him. I think I'd better go on the next field trip, or he could get lost for good.

I guess nothing really exciting is going on. School for the kids, work for Aaron, hanging out with Amy for me. Two weekends ago was General Conference for our church. It was a great time to listen to wonderful messages from inspired men and women. I was pleased that David was listening really well this time. I found an activity booklet online. I printed off several pages of stuff, but the thing that kept him occupied was a list of words that he could tally how many times they were said. We usually do a Bingo type game, but once the word is said once they aren't listening anymore. This way he could keep listening to the whole thing. We usually watch one session at the church, however Amy's naps were right in the middle of each session. It was easier for everyone to listen while she was sleeping.

Last Saturday the cubscouts did an urban hike. They went downtown and walked about 5 miles and saw a lot of historical sites answering questions along the way. Aaron took the boys with him. He's a brave man ;) It took a really long time to complete the hike, and the boys weren't always cooperative. But they survived. While they were gone Amy took a really long nap and I got a lot done. Aaron got some alone time and did some shopping later that evening, while I watched some football with the kids. OK, so I enjoyed it more than they did. We also got to cheer on BYU - they won again in case you didn't know. I also won a drawing, and received my beautiful apron in the mail - thanks Shannon.
no that's not me in the picture

Last Sunday I got to fast for the first time in almost two years. I'm down to nursing about once a day. So I figured I would be eating again before I nursed Amy again. Aaron and I are taking the Family Relations class during Sunday School. It's fun, and we get some great discussion going. Especially since the teachers are both physicians - one being a clinical psychologist. Since Aaron was on call Monday we had FHE on Sunday and Timothy picked Pumpkin Rolls for dessert after Aaron suggested it. They were yummy. The kids enjoyed them a few days later as well.

Our nights seem to be pretty busy, between cubscouts, Housestaff meetings, school activities, and other random things. And now Aaron is working the ER night shift. I may have mentioned that Aaron rearranged the senior ER shift schedule for the next 4 weeks. He wanted to get more days in a row off so we could make some interview trips. So now he's working 4 and 5 shifts in a row so he can have 2 or 3 days off at at time. Unfortunately that is going to make for a very exhausting month. Even on his days off we will be busy traveling and touring different cities and towns. It's exciting though!

We've enjoyed pretty good weather up until this week. It was a little chilly, and then it was rainy on Wednesday. However Thursday afternoon was great. It was overcast, but not raining or windy. We we played on the playground for 45 minutes after school. Amy was in such a good mood. I had fun talking with two other adults (both happened to be babysitters, not moms) while Amy played in the dirt and wood chips, ate snacks, and laughed at everything.

Since I delayed this a day I have today to write about too. Aaron came home around 8:00 am. I tried to keep the kids quiet until I took them over to the church for the primary program practice. It's been raining a lot and the power was out at the church. There was still plenty of light from the windows in the chapel, and the power came back on before they headed back to the primary room for a pizza lunch. While the boys were there Amy and I ran to Target and the produce stand. Amy and I got to munch on some pizza before we headed home. While Amy napped and the boys played on the computer I made a dessert for the chili cook-off. Aaron had made some chili on Friday and we warmed it up before dinner. We listened to most of the BYU game before we left. Hooray for another BYU win - in fact win #500 for BYU. We enjoyed eating lots of great chili at the cook-off. They had enough categories that most everyone won a prize. Aaron's chili won for people's choice.

Well, Aaron's back working in the ER tonight, and I am going to get to bed at a decent hour. I might get another chance to blog tomorrow.

Pictures and a couple updates

I know I have been posting a lot, but here's some more. Aaron is on call, so I've been putting together a few posts. Sunday morning Aaron took some pictures of Amy. She had just woken up from her nap, so she wasn't too interested. I love the progression of the pictures.

That puppy dog, is her favorite toy right now.

Then Aaron took some of the kids
David has a pretty goofy smile

We got a few of the family.

I also wanted to record a few things the kids have been up to. Timothy's reading has really improved. He loves to read books on his own, but I wondered how well he could read. We were reading scripture stories as a family and during Timothy's turn he sounded out words like "bondage", "uncomfortable" and "domination". He still has trouble with writing legibly. His letters and numbers are often very large and some are often backward. But he's very willing to correct things.

Amy is saying a few new words. I may have mentioned these before, but I don't want to forget to write them down.
nana - banana - one of her favorite foods
dow - down - when she wants to go downstairs
mama - Mom - until about a week ago she didn't address me consistently, now she says "mama" when she wants my attention.

Amy is also attempting to jump. She can't really get both feet off the ground, but it's cute to watch her try.

playing tricks

The boys thought I was trying to get a picture of them. The video turned out pretty funny!

a chill in the air

Now that it's a little cooler here the furnace turns on everyday at some point. The kids love to sit in front of the heat vents. I caught David huddling in front of this one.

And then found Timothy next to the one in their room.

Even Amy has learned this little trick.
(I love the face she pulled)

sometimes she has pants on too ;)

Jell-O

Last week some time (the 3rd) we had Jell-O for dinner. Amy loved it. I took some pics of the mess she made. The boys couldn't be left out of course.

Looking at the pictures it must have been the same day I took pictures of the boys in the previous post.

New diagnosis

So remember those blood tests that were supposed to rule out other causes of my esophageal spasms? Well, one of them was abnormal. So they recommend an ultrasound. They did one back in December, however it was last minute and I wasn't fasting so they couldn't see what they were looking for. So this time I went in fasting and they found gall stones. We still have to determine that my pain is being caused by the stones. So I guess that's where we stand for now.

so behind

I fell like I haven't blogged in weeks. Well, it's only been 5 days, hmm, the last time Aaron was on call. So since then we have had a fun week. (sorrry I don't have any pictures) Aaron took Timothy home teaching on Monday. Tuesday I ran some errands with Amy and helped in the library for Timothy's class. That evening, after Aaron came home I went over to the church to help with our ward's Relief Society annual welcome dinner. I got there a little late due to traffic. The menu was fabulous - it helps to have a gourmet chef on the committee. We received a surprise when my friend Julie from my old ward showed up. She was coming to set up from their ward's enrichment night. The building was double booked. Luckily Julie was very flexible, and they didn't need the kitchen. It was a little confusing as people arrived, and we had to direct them to correct meeting. The dinner was wonderful. And I enjoyed helping out with set up and clean up.

While I was at the church, Aaron took the kids to another Burgers on the Chiefs dinner. However this time they decided to grill some brats at a park. It would have been great had it not been cold, windy and raining. We realized that David needs a new coat, and soon.

Wednesday the kids had an early release day at school, Timothy stayed the whole time. He was crying when he came out with the teacher. It took me a while to figure out why. Apparently there was a Lego club meeting after school, and somehow he thought that is where he was going. At the playground I discovered that Amy's eighth tooth finally cut through. That afternoon I watched a little girl for a friend. It was a fun evening. Aaron went straight to scouts from work. After he came home we shared some leftovers. Then I had another esophagael spasm - no fun.

Thursday was a fun day. After spending some time with Amy in the morning I dropped her off at Nathan and Amy's home, and drove dowtown to see Wicked with some friends of mine. It was so good. I wish I had taken some pictures of us down there. We sat in the 6th row. I would have enjoyed it more if I didn't have another spasm in the middle of it.

I've never left Amy that long. She did fine. The nap didn't go as planned, but she did eventually sleep. I had Timothy go over to a friend's house after kindergarten. They returnedt o pick up the big brothers. I was going to pick them up at the playground, but since it started raining David and Timothy went over to a different friend's house - only 2 blocks away. Of course they didn't want to leave when I went to get them, and I wasn't feeling well enough to argue with them. I was so grateful for all of the babysitters I used that day. Especially Amy who offered to watch Amy (isn't that confusing) even if she cried the entire time.

The rest of the evening was kind of a blur. I just didn't feel well at all. I just sat downstairs while they kids played. I was going to call Aaron, but about 2 minutes after I had David get the phone for me Aaron called. We didn't talk long, but I was glad he knew that dinner wouldn't be ready. He graciously fixed dinner while I tried to relax. I felt better enough to eat a little bit. But then started hurting again just as we were going to bed. Aaron begged my to go see my Dr. today - even though I have a check-up scheduled for next week.

This morning I was exhausted, and still not feeling well. So I made an appointment for 9:00. I was grateful for my friend Wendy who took the boys at 8:30 and walked them to school with her girls. I started feeling better after I got to the Dr.'s office. I got a new medication and I hope it helps. They also did some labs that should rule out a few other possible causes. Amy had only slept 5 minutes in the car on the way to the appointment. She was so tired. She fell asleep within minutes on the road, so I decided to go to the grocery store - she's still in the infant seat, even though she's a little too tall. It was helpful today. She stayed asleep the whole trip, the drive home, unloading the groceries and then I got her up as I took her out of the van. I didn't have much of an appetite today, but at least the pain hasn't returned.

Other than the normal stuff - after school pick-up, reading, computer playing etc. we listened to part of the BYU - Utah State game. I missed the first 15 minutes was not pleased that BYU didn't score first, but they made up for it after that. Cougars win it 35-17! Oh, and Amy still loves to make the "touchdown" sign.

I'm looking forawrd to listening to General Conference tomorrow. I don't think we'll go watch any sessions at the church because they all interfere with Amy's naps. Maybe I'll leave Amy here with Aaron and I'll take the boys. Well, maybe not tommorow - he'll be post call.
Well, it is really late, so I'm going to head to bed. Good night.
