New Year, New Ward

December 30th we had a special church meeting. I don't think it was a surprise to most people in attendance. Our ward and the neighboring ward have been dwindling in numbers with people moving out and older members passing away (is that the proper way to say that?). Several years ago the ward split, and it was time to bring them back together again. As Bishop, Aaron knew it was coming for a while. I knew for a couple of weeks, especially after Aaron found out he would remain Bishop, and Bishop S* would be released. I think most everyone was excited about this change. Aaron had called a new counselor, and a new ward clerk. We also had a New Elder's Quorum presidency with the same President. After the new leadership was announced Aaron then proceeded to release everyone else! The next couple of weeks were super busy as the ward council had to fill dozens of callings. Becky G* was called as president again with new counselors. With the 11 year old Primary class being eliminated my new Sunday School class was going to change quite a bit. however, as it turns out I got moved to the middle Sunday school class (those turning 14 and 15 this year), so basically I have the same kids in my class with the addition of a few students from the other ward. I taught my last Sunday school class of the year, not knowing what would happen the following week, but I was willing to go where ever they needed me.

I don't remember much else about that Sunday, but that Aaron was gone pretty much the rest of the day as he sat in council with others and visiting ward members and extending callings. It was exhausting!

Allison found a another candy cane
The kids put together a puzzle while Allison was sleeping of course.

Monday was New Year's Eve. I hadn't planned on throwing a party because the boys would be going to the Stake Party. But everyone really wanted a party. So I invited a few families over and we threw it together last minute. Some of the guests left early for the stake event, and the rest stayed for a bit longer. I reluctantly stayed awake with Amy until midnight. Aaron ended up not having to drive kids to and from the event. He was on call through Wednesday.

Tuesday morning started 2019!!! We had more fun including breaking the gingerbread house, since we forgot to do that on the 31st.
Cardboard boxes are so much fun!!!
The kids love the giant Jenga blocks from G&G G*
Did I share this already?
