Potty Training and Homecoming Game

Tuesday was back to work and school. I took the little girls to the city for shopping. However as I was driving from one store to another I got a notification that our house alarm was going off. I was sure that it was a false alarm. It was the shed door, and it probably just didn't get closed all the way. So I told the alarm company to mark it as a false alarm, but I couldn't stay up there and not check, so I skipped the last two stores, and went home. I would have to go back up the next day. I was right, the shed door wasn't closed all the way, and the wind must have pushed it enough to trigger the alarm. It was still mostly closed, and nothing was taken. Max was tied up, so he hadn't pushed it open. All that for nothing, except peace of mind I suppose.

Later that afternoon Allison demonstrated her crawling skills, and tried to climb up the stairs.

She didn't get very far. That afternoon was piano lessons for the boys. I also told them I was doing haircut that night, and David utterly refused. His hair was getting too long, and out of control. I told him I wouldn't chop it off, it just needed a trim. I basically had to tell him he wouldn't go to homecoming if he didn't get his haircut. He was not happy about it at all.

Wednesday I had to go back up to the city to finish my grocery shopping. That's about it for the morning. That night was mutual, and activity days. They did some pampering: facials, manicures and pedicures. Aaron snapped this picture of Amy.
Not very flattering - oh well.

Thursday was a quiet morning. I decided since I had run out of diapers, and purposely didn't buy any at the store and we weren't going anywhere, it was time to potty train Michelle. She did pretty well that morning. She went three times, and was excited about the M&M's as a treat. Then I decided to go visit Sandi. I put Michelle in a pull-up just in case. Sandi was home but not as mobile as she would like to be. Bob helped her get into her recliner and we chatted, about all sorts of things.

At some point the conversation turned to visiting the next week, and Bob mentioned they had an appointment on Monday about changing their will. My memory was sparked, and I vaguely remembered making an appointment to sign our will, and that it was that very morning. I felt bad, but I abruptly ended out visit telling them that I just remembered the appointment, and that if I left right then I'd only be a couple of minutes late. I texted Aaron to see if he remembered we had that appointment. Then I called the office to confirm we did in fact have an appointment in 25 minutes, so I told them I was on my way, but I'd be a few minutes late. Aaron got back to me and said he wasn't sure, and I responded that I confirmed we had an appointment, and that it was at 11:30. So he went back to his meeting, and came as soon a he could. Michelle fell asleep on the way up there. Thank goodness she had a pull up on.

Aaron got there just before I did. He helped me get the girls out of the Yukon. They brought Michelle some coloring pages, and we went through everything and signed everything, and then we were on our way again. Allison stayed asleep the whole time. I got home and fed her, and then we had some lunch. Michelle only got a 10 minute nap that day, oh well. But we worked on potty training, and she did great, as long as she didn't have anything on her bottom. Only a couple of accidents.

I don't remember much else about that afternoon other than piano lessons for Amy. I don't remember anything about that night either.

Friday was the only day during the week that I didn't go to the city - ha! I was able to help Michelle more with potty training. She was doing great! I don't remember exactly what else I did, but I was home, and cleaned up, and did laundry, and stuff like that. Allison was having fun watching her reflection in the mirror.

That night was the homecoming game. It was fun to see people we knew on the homecoming court.

  There's Kiri!

There's Shelby

Victoria, Andy and Leo came to the game to support Shelby. She babysits for them. They left after halftime. They were heading out of town in the morning.

Michelle used the port a potty - I was surprised. Of course we won the game, by a lot. So far, no one has scored against our defense! It was a fun game. We get home earlier when there's a running clock.

Fair Time!!!

Monday was Fair Day. Aaron and David went down to David's orthodontists appointment, and did some shopping. Meanwhile we cleaned up and got lunches ready. Allison was crawling all over the girls toys while we were cleaning up.
We stopped by the bank, and then ate lunch on the way up to the fairgrounds. We drove up to the shuttle stop and parked. We waited a few minutes for the shuttle, and got to the fairgrounds a few minutes later. After purchasing tickets we stopped at the usual first stop.

Allison enjoyed the stroller at first.

We saw the insect exhibit

We ran into Shannon, and her girls

My girls wanted to take pictures at every cut out.

Then we went to the Modern Living Building to see how our project placed. We were pleasantly surprised to see it got 2nd place.

This was first place. It definitely deserved 1st place. This is only the second welding project Aaron has done. I'd say he did pretty well.

This was another one.
We saw the quilts, and clothes, preserving, baking, and 4H entries. Then took more pictures.

Then it was off to the petting zoo.

Then we headed over to the kids' building with the corn bin and straw maze. Amy climbed onto the big tractor and posed for me.

David was needing some ibuprofen, and we didn't have any. He and Aaron went to a first aid station to see if they had any. We ran into Shannon again. She had some ibuprofen so I put it in my bag in case we needed it.

Brynn and Melanie in the corn bin.

 Posing on the train

While Aaron watched the kids I nursed Allison in the convenient mother's lounge. He got these pictures of the girls in the fishing boat.

We saw the "small animals" rabbits, ducks, chickens, turkeys etc.

Then we went to a few of the animal barns. I didn't need to see barn after barn of cows, and then 4 barns of horses. So we picked one of each animal, and then the 4H barn

 These piglets were all sleeping
There was another pen of 10 piglets all eating, and another one of them all running around. So cute!!!

Then we went to the STEM building.

The 3D printers were cool
 making straw rockets

Excited to see my friend's honey get a first place ribbon!

We ate a snack at the dairy women's ice cream shop. Meanwhile, Aaron watched a food demo done by some friends from the clinic.
 Eating ice cream

Then I fed Allison again while Aaron took the kids over to the pig races. Allison and I joined then there when we were done.

We stopped to play on the ring a ding on the way into the arena. We wandered around the vendor booths for a bit, and the girls bought some things for souvenirs. Then we got to pick what to eat for dinner and enjoyed that while watching a stage show. Then Dallin K* went with David and Timothy to play some games. Melanie, Brynn and Michelle rode the carousel with Aaron.

We walked through the arena one last time and then headed home. We were exhausted. When I looked at my step count I could see why.

It was a fun day together!
